Hi, i need to create GL ES 2.0 context on osx using angle. I specified
glfwWindowHint(GLFW\_CONTEXT\_CREATION\_API, GLFW\_EGL\_CONTEXT\_API);
glfwWindowHint(GLFW\_CLIENT\_API, GLFW\_OPENGL\_ES\_API);
glfwWindowHint(GLFW\_CONTEXT\_VERSION\_MAJOR, 2);
glfwWindowHint(GLFW\_CONTEXT\_VERSION\_MINOR, 0);
glfwInitHint(GLFW\_ANGLE\_PLATFORM\_TYPE, GLFW\_ANGLE\_PLATFORM\_TYPE\_METAL);
to create window but when i use `glGetString(GL_VERSION)` it returns gl es 3.0 context version.

Hi @VladislavKhudziakov,

Welcome to the GLFW forum.

OpenGL ES 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0, and the context hints for OpenGL ES are not hard constraints, see the notes in [GLFW: Window guide](https://www.glfw.org/docs/latest/window_guide.html#window_hints_ctx)

So you should be able to go ahead and use this contect with the OpenGL ES 2.0 API.

Cheers,

Doug
